Objectives

By the end of this lesson, you will be able to
- choose a topic within Astronomy that interests you
- use a search engine such as Google, Yahoo, Lycos or AltaVista to find Web pages about the topic
- pick the best three Web sites that make sense to you
- print these Web sites (or take screen shots if they are simulations)
- fill in the activity 4 sheet
Astronomy portals

- Mike Boschat's Astronomy Page
- Huge list of links to a wide range of Amateur Astronomy. Mike is a Russian national working as an academic in Canada, and he has some interesting photos on his site.
- Google Astronomy directory
- Oddly enough, not very good - bit thin on the ground.
- The Bad Astronomy Guide
- Phil Plait's answer to all the media mistakes and common misunderstandings in science.
- The Astronomy Cafe
- "The web site for the astronomically disadvantaged" by Dr Sten Odenwald. The Web site of the book. Nice short explanations of many bits and pieces.

All you need to do is to is download activity 4 and pick your topic! Please remember to hand in printouts of the pages you find and then fill in the addresses of the Web sites.
