A short course from North Birmingham College held at the Collingwood Centre late September and October 2002. This course aims to provide you with basic information about astronomy, and the skills you need to find out more using the Web. The course also includes demonstrations of the use of binoculars and small telescopes of differing types. This course is not about astrology! Week by week
Each session starts at 6pm and lasts for three hours including break. The start date and day of the week have yet to be finalised.
Week 1: The constellation patterns and myths
Week 2: Making a planisphere
Week 3: Rising and setting
Week 4: Scale model of the Solar System
Week 5: Web search on a topic
Week 6: Using a small telescope
Week 7: Organising a family stargazing session
