Why take logs?
- Some stuff on logarithms and transforming data might help with scenario 3.
- I'll try to find better Web pages
- Bring it back for next lesson and I'll sort it out in the workshop session
- When you plot the base pairs against distance from well, you get a curve
- Curve graphs are hard to anaylse into formulas
- Taking log(BP) transforms the data so when you plot log(BP) against mm from well, you can draw a 'line of best fit'
- It's easier to get a formula from the line of best fit
Gel B Max lengths
- Gel B example with max lengths marked
- You need this to complete the error estimate for the gel measurements!
